Planning your Accolade underfloor heating. Planning your Accolade underfloor heating system is relatively easy, and to help you we have compiled a planning guide. You will need One sheet of paper (preferably graph paper). Plan your mat layout
Do you need grounding nets? When installing heat mats in wet areas (including shower rooms and bathrooms and within 50cm of any sink or any metallic kitchen appliance) grounding nets should be fitted on top of the mats to increase safety of the system and to comply with UK regulations. Grounding nets consist of a fine metal mesh 0.6mm thick and are supplied in three sizes:
Once you have calculated what heating mats and grounding nets you require, you then need to determine your insulation needs. Flexible insulation is used below laminate, engineered board and carpet, and is sold in 10m2 and 20m2 rolls. Add 10% to your overall square metreage (for wastage) and round up to the nearest 10m. This is the metreage of flexible insulation required for your installation. Solid Board Insulation is used with stuck down floors such as ceramic tiles and are available in sheets 1250mm x 600mm (0.75m2). Add 10% to your overall square metres and divide by 0.75 and round this figure up to nearest whole number. This is the number of boards required for your installation. Choose your thermostat Decide which type of thermostat you require. Do you need a programmable thermostat or a simple on/off type non-programmable one? Send your requirements to us by Fax, email, telephone or letter and we will provide you with costs including delivery.
