The Accolade Amorphous Metal Underfloor Heating System

Accolade’s underfloor Heating System fits under any  floorcovering, on any subfloor and is even suitable for conservatory heating – quite possibly the most challenging area to heat. It maintains a controlled, even temperature using less power than alternative systems thanks to the extremely efficient metallic ribbon technology.

The heart of Accolade’s underfloor heating system is the Amorphous metal ribbon just 25 microns thick (1/80^th millimetre) that is formed into a wide ribbon sheathed in two layers of flexible polyethylene insulation. The ribbons are then shaped into various mat sizes and the gaps between each ribbon restricted to eliminate cold spots.

 
The ultra thin ribbon is a superb converter of energy to heat and will reach just 30ºC to provide a primary heat source. This low temperature combined with a high heat transfer ratio of 25% - 30% allows Accolade’s underfloor heating system to be fitted directly under ceramic tiles, granite, laminate, engineered board, solid wood and even carpet without encasing the system in a screed.

This results in much quicker response to thermostatic control, and the ribbon will achieve optimum temperature in just a few minutes (when used with appropriate insulation).  Many conservatory heating systems encased in screed can take several hours to reach optimum temperature, severely restricting the responsiveness and increasing the running costs of the system.
