What is the purpose of the floor probe? The floor probe controls the temperature of the floor (rather than the ambient temperature of the room). This is particularly useful with floorcoverings such as delicate carpeting or solid wood. It is generally accepted that the maximum recommended temperature for solid wood flooring with UFH is 27c – a higher floor temperature may contribute towards the floor twisting or warping over time. N.B. Solid wood flooring is a natural product and will over time, twist and/or warp irrespective of any UFH system. Since Accolade’s UFH system works at a lower operating temperature (max 30c), it is much kinder to the floor surface than other UFH systems that operate at temperatures up to 70c. |
